Disney's California Adventure Overview

GLOWING TO DISNEY'S CALIFORNIA ADVENTUREª PARK Disney's Electrical Parade, a version of the popular after-dark parade that appeared in Disneyland¨ park from 1972 to 1996 now delights guests nightly during the summer at Disney's California Adventure. Located across from Disneyland Park, Disney's California Adventure celebrates the fun and adventures of California.  The entrance to this new park is easy to find with California spelled out in 11½ foot-tall letters and the Golden Gate Bridge overhead as you head into Sunshine Plaza.

The Golden State in Disney’s California Adventure Park brings to life the diversity of the land, the people and the history of the great state of California. From the gold rush of the mid 1800s to today’s technological gold rush of the Silicon Valley, California is the state of opportunity. Is it the climate, the scenic wonders, the bountiful land or the free-spirited attitude that draws people from all over the world? In fact, it’s all of these things and more, all celebrated in grand style in the Golden State.

It’s an endless summer all year ‘round at the land known as Paradise Pier. Reminiscent of “thrills and chills” seaside recreation parks of years gone by, Paradise Pier incorporates nostalgia with state-of-the-art technology in an atmosphere that invigorates the senses with sights, sounds and high energy excitement at every turn. In a colorful atmosphere set around a lush oceanfront lagoon, Paradise Pier offers guests the ultimate sun ‘n fun California experience with rides, midway games, boardwalk entertainment, and beach-themed food emporiums for snacks or sit-down dining. It’s an all-encompassing, all exciting and all California experience.

The heyday of Hollywood comes alive at Disney’s California Adventure Park. Enter the glamorous Hollywood Pictures Backlot through a massive gate inspired by the movie spectacles of Hollywood’s golden age. Walk along an idealized Hollywood Boulevard set designed in classic forties art deco style. See celebrity look-alikes along the thoroughfare while limousines park curbside waiting to whisk the latest Hollywood star off to the set. Amid soundstages and klieg lights, it's all glitter and glitz in this district that takes a tongue-in-cheek view of the motion picture industry in California’s most well known city, Hollywood.
